CATS staff and Charlotte Trolley, Inc. have been working to finalize arrangements for a new Trolley Barn and Museum located adjacent to the Bland Street LYNX Blue line station. In order to proceed with the construction of the new barn, CATS and Charlotte Trolley, Inc. are negotiating a no-cost (rent free) lease with Charlotte Trolley, Inc. on City-owned property for a base period of 50 years. CATS Keeps You Connected!

Due to construction on the South Corridor Light Rail Line in South End and Center City Charlotte, Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will temporarily suspend the Charlotte Trolley service for approximately one year, starting Feb. 6, 2006. During construction, CATS will implement the South End Shuttle.

CATS Riders Alert - South End Shuttle

The South End Shuttle will operate to Bobcat Games and other select Arena events. To get to the game, board the shuttle at Atherton Mill or at any of the bus stops along Camden or South Tryon where the shuttle operates. Northbound the fare is $1.00 when you get on until you cross Morehead. Between Morehead and 11th the shuttle will operate fare free.

Historic South End Newsletter

Transit Update – Construction on the South End Light Rail Transit Corridor is underway. Here are some details:

The $427 million South Corridor light rail line is now under construction. The 9.6 mile route between Uptown and Interstate 485 will be a major economic development catalyst for the Historic South End, ushering in a wave of new residential and retail investment upon it's completion in late summer 2007.

Please pardon the inconvenience as we build Charlotte’s first rapid transit line and associated road and sidewalk improvements, the South Corridor Light Rail & Infrastructure Projects.
